We're still around

Well, what a blog slacker I've turned out to be. I haven't posted in almost two weeks. When I started this thing, my goal was to try and post something at least once a week. I'm falling behind. We've been really busy. Doing what, I really couldn't tell you. Not that I have some big secret life or anything, it just seems like we're always running from one thing to the next.

This past weekend we went up to Snowbird and rode the tram to the top of the mountain. They had a deal going that if you brought in a can of food, you could ride for free. I'm all for getting things for free! When I told Isaac where we were going he asked, "what's a tram?". It just made me step back a little and realize that there are so many cool things I can teach him.

We got to the top of the mountain, and it was COLD. And the wind was blowing. Not just a little mountain breeze, but huge gusts. We spent all of about 20 minutes at the top of the mountain before jumping back on the tram and heading down. Greg got some really cool pictures though.

Isaac's Party

We had Isaac's birthday party on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. We did a sports theme since that's what he's into. We had all kinds of "sports" snacks: pretzels, chips, tortilla chips and salsa, etc. On the invitation I asked everyone to dress in their favorite sports team colors. Which ended up with almost everyone in University of Utah gear. lol. I went to take the decorations down the next day, and he asked me if we could keep them up. So they're still up. Four. Days. Later. *Sigh* Here's some pictures.

Thanks to everyone who came. Isaac had a blast. He keeps saying, "I had fun at my party, Mom."

Tagged

I was tagged, so I guess I'd better do this:
7 random/weird things about me:
1. I hate wearing socks. Even though I live in a state where we get feet of snow piled up in the winter, I will wear sandals as long as I can stand it. Even then I will try and find shoes that don't have to wear socks with. And nylons, gag! I don't think I've worn them for years.
2. I love cinnamon bears. But when I eat them, I have to bite the head off the bear first. I don't know why, I just do.
3. I have a habit of twirling my hair around my finger whenever I'm nervous, bored, anxious, etc. It sometimes bugs Greg.
4. I can talk in a REALLY low voice. My high school friends used to make me do it all the time. I do it for Isaac now, and he thinks it's pretty funny.
5. I have to have the radio or TV on at my house. I can't stand it if it's too quiet.
6. I don't like to watch sports on TV. The sound of the announcers' voices is like fingernails on a chalkboard to me. But to go to a game is something totally different. That's way more fun. I think it's probably because I like to people watch too.
7. I love to read. I always have to have a book I'm reading. Right now I'm reading Wicked. It's kind of slow going.
Alright, so I tag:
Wade, Dana, Dawn, Julie, Pyper, Janelle, and Nathaly. This is my first tag, so you guys better do it! :)

Happy Birthday Isaac!

Today is Isaac's birthday! I can't believe that he's 3 already. It goes by so fast. When I asked him what he wanted to do today, he told me he wanted to go but some new shoes. This is the same answer he gave me last year. I think it's bordering on a tradition. So after he opened his presents this morning (which were mostly clothes) we took him to see Space Chimps, to lunch and then to buy some new shoes. Here's the ones he picked. What do you think?

Pretty cool, eh?

I thought I would write down a few things I love about my baby boy.

* He is really tenderhearted. He is always very concerned if someone else is sad. He'll tell me "I'll give them a hug and they'll feel better".

* He is a comedian. He loves telling jokes and making people laugh. Here's one of his favorites:
Q: What kind of bug says zubb?
A: A bee flying backwards.

After he tells the joke he throws his head back and laughs. It's funnier than the joke.

* He is really easy going. He was a really easy baby (minus the 10 months of reflux), and he is okay just to go with the flow. He has had very few major breakdowns.

* I love his long eyelashes and big eyes. I think we may have a problem with girls when he's older.

* He's really social and loves talking to other people. Both kids and adults. We'll be at the store, and he'll strike up a conversation with anyone in sight.

And since I'd rather play with him than be on the computer, I'll finish with some pictures.

Hours old

One year old

Two years old

And three years old today on his new wiggle car.

Happy Birthday buddy.
